My narrative

My Narrative
From my research (primary and secondary research) it is clear that my target audience preferred a narrative based music video. So therefore I have come up with a story line, which relates to the lyrics of my chosen song. Additionally I will be focusing on the narrative structure by Levi Strauss who described narratives being created by constant conflict of binary opposites. My narrative will be revolving around opposites such as Love and Hate.

The opening of my music video is going to begin with an indirect interaction between a boy and girl, walking past each other. Then the lyrical content of the song sings 'are you sure we haven't met before' at this point I intend to achieve a flashback scene of, the events of when the boy and girl used to date each other. Then the video will narrate about the good times they used to have with each other in the past where they were both in love. Then also reveal the heart break of the the girl in the present day where she now hates her ex boyfriend. Towards the end of the music video, which will be narrating the present day today, there will be another boy whose face constantly fades, with the person who is in a relationship with the girl in the past. This is to create the sense of a 'stranger' because the girl believed that she was seeing her Ex boyfriend however it was just a random 'stranger'. (Hallucinating effect)

Through representation theory I am going to include positive representation of  the female in my music video, by not having her expose her body, in order for her to not be represented as a sexual object for the male gaze, this representation is often presented especially R&B music videos, evidently in my music video analysis research.
