I had a look at this slide share, and it made me understand the
theory of media in a bit more depth. I will be applying
more theories into my work.
Advertising is a form of communication for marketing used to encourage
or persuade an audience (viewers, readers or listeners; sometimes a specific
group) to continue or take some new action. Most commonly, the desired result
is to drive consumer behaviour with respect to a commercial offering.
Conventions of magazine adverts are:
Song/Album title
Visual links to the video - Intertexuality
Reviews (Newspaper, Music press, Celebrities/DJ's-Trend Setters)
Condensed information on content
Release date
Artist name
Where it is available to purchase (iTunes, HMV, Amazon)
Record Label Logo
Website (official artist site)
I will be implementing as many conventions as I believe I can replicate, in order to increase the authenticity of my magazine advertisement.
